GB4 FIRST ROUND UPDATE...

The GB4 Championship commenced its 2025 season at Donington Park on April 5-6, introducing the new Tatuus MSV GB4-025 car. The event featured a record grid of aspiring single-seater drivers, all eager to make their mark in the series.

Welsh driver Neirin “Nye” Evans made his GB4 debut with RossoVerde Scorpio Racing. For his first qualifying session, Nye finished a respectable 1.7 seconds behind pole, starting each race from 22nd place on the grid. In the first race, after a great start, Nye settled for an 18th place finish, which was a great result in a very experienced field of 25. Sunday's morning race saw Nye carry on where he left off, finishing 19th overall, however Nye earned a 15 second penalty for a slight collision, which saw him drop 3 places to 22nd. In the final race of the weekend, Nye surpassed his first race place, starting 22nd on the grid and finishing 16th, in a very strong and capable performance.

These performances place Nye is a good position as he embarks on his rookie GB4 campaign. The championship now looks ahead to its next round at Silverstone on 26th and 27th April. Prior to that the championship has a test date at Brands Hatch on 15th April where the drivers will be tested, given Brands is a short track with a little bit of everything
